My interest in your query is not only that I have McDill lineage, but also Hanna (Hannah, Ahannay) lineage. The Hanna's owned Sorbie Castle in Kirkudbrightshire Scotland and after coming to America both lines intermarried. John Hanna married Nancy Ann McDill daughter of James McDill abt 1772. I do not know where the McDill's came from in Scotland, or when they came to America. I have been trying to locate this information for quite some time. There is alot of information on the South Carolina McDills but not too much on my Jacob McDill whom I believe is the immigrant to America from Scotland. He lived in Pennsylvania only as far as I know. Let me know if you have any information you would like to share and I will gladly share what I have with you.
