Margaret was the daughter of John and Janet Leslie McDill of Broughnow, near Broughshane, Ballymena Parish, County Antrim, Ireland. Two brothers Thomas and Hugh are know and tradition is that there were four additional brothers. Thomas and his wife Janet Chestnut settled in Chester County, South Carolina and Hugh and his wife Rosanna Stewart in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.

All this is from "McDills in America", a book published in 1940 by Robert McDill Woods and Iva Godfrey Woods.
