Robert Woods, the author of The McDill Family in America, was my father-in-law. He collected material on the family until he died in 1984 but never got it published. His wife has also died and none of their children are interested in genealogy. However, our two daughters are so we gathered all of his notes and correspondence and gave it over to our daughters who are slowly trying to find time to type the material from the book into a genealogy software program. There is nearly as much more material to be sifted through and decoded (except that the code identifying sources of information died with him, unfortunately), then typed into the software. It will be a long job and perhaps an impossible one (I find it very hard to work with someone else's material). We need all the encouragement that we can get!
