Kerri
I don't have Matthew in my database, but the McDills of Abbeville County were descended of two men, probably brothers, who arrived in SC in 1772 from Ireland: Thomas McDill and Nathaniel McDill. They came in a party of five ships of emigrants who were mostly from County Antrim, Ireland. Read some of the previous posts on the forum about these men and their presumed parents, John McDill and Janet Leslie. Most likely, the McDills moved from Scotland to Ireland during the reign of King James I (1603 - 1625).
