I checked and found W. W. McDill in the 1850 census in Newberry Co SC on p. 243, listed next door to a J. M. McDill age 32 with wife Sarah and young children. On the next page is listed Elizabeth McDill age 50, living alone. They are the only McDills in the county for that year. I really think this line belongs to the Thomas McDill of Chester Co line, not Nathaniel Sr. Neither of these men fits with the known grandchildren of Nathaniel Sr. and they are too old to be great-grandchildren.
