Thanks for the information on the S.C. McDill's. I did have the 1850 census you found but did not know that there was an Elizabeth McDill age 50 living close by. Do you have any information on the Thomas McDill family of Chester Co.? Did his line stay in SC?
I also have the 1860 census for W.W. McDill and wife Jane and they are still in Abbeville at that time. I haven't found them though for 1870.
I have something I found online that listed the children of Thomas McDill and Margaret Chestnut, is this the Thomas you think my W.W. might be connected to? This Thomas had a son named John b. 1761 d. 1848 who it says stayed in SC. Your help is appreciated.
