Hi,
I'm having a hard time finding information on my ancestor named "Dill." I know that it was not uncommon to change the spelling of family names (ie: O'Kelly--Kelly, O'Sullivan--Sullivan...) for a variety of reasons. Do any of you know for a fact that your ancestors, the "McDill's" did this too? I'm thinking that maybe if I begin to search some "McDill" sites, I may find my relatives. I have very little info, but here it is:
Olive Dill b: 4/17/1856 in Shelby Co., OH married Ricahrd Ebenezer Cannon-She is my 2nd Great-Grandmother. Her parents, Were James C. Dill b:1829 and Martha Botkin. James' parents were Richard Crane Dill b:1786 and Hannah Burch. Richard's father was Thomas. That's it!
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
