Jabez Hillard (Hillary) McDougald, Fla

I need some help from someone who knows a lot about McDougalds. I have this great grandfather named Jabez Hillard McDougald. He was born in Quincy, Gadaden Co., Florida on 20 May 1843. For many years I thought he was a child of Alexander McDougald who came to Gadsden County, from North Carolina, where he lived until he died. A Glenda McDougald has the Family Bible of Alexander McDougald and my J.H. McDougald is not in the Bible.
Therefore, I don't have a clue as to who his father was. Jabez was in the Civil War in the 6th REgiment of Florida Infantry. He served from Jan. 1862 to 1864. He was wounded. He came to Houston County, Texas where he married Sarah Douglass, about 1870, raised a large family and died in 1915.

If anyone knows anything about Jabez H. McDougald, please contact me. Billie Curry Steeley, (
