Do you know of any connection between your Alexander McDougald and my John McDougald, both having held land very close to each other in Gadsden County? While researching my John, I've come across your McDougalds as well. Because they were so close geographically at the same time, I've wondered if they were related in some way. Both had sons named Archibald, and daughters named Flora. Of course, those were very common names. John was born in 1784 in Scotland, immigrated to NC, then migrated to Gadsden County. The Bible of your Alexander lists the birth of a John Duncan. In his will, my John mentions the estate of a brother, Duncan McDougald, in Mississippi. Again, common names, of course.
