Bette,
I know your post is old but here goes.
Thomas Muldrow McElveen, b 5 Oct. 1883, was a son of John Frierson "Friday" McElveen and Eva Rebecca Young. He died 9 July 1955; children were Thomas Paul, Andrew Jackson, Willadean, Margarite, Pauline and Rebecca. Both he and his wife are buried at Thomas Cemetery, Olanta. His obituary notes he was age 71, survived by his widow, Mrs. Lula Oliver McElveen, two sons, Andrew J., Turbeville (who died just a few months later), T.P. McElveen, Olanta, four daughters, Mrs. Lroy Lynch and Mrs. Luckus Morris of Timmonsville, Mrs. Marshall Gaymon of Effingham and Mrs. Louie Gaymon of Sumter; also survived by a sister, Mrs. Norman Powerll of Turbeville, three brothers, J.J., David, and Ernest all of Olanta.
I have much data on his parents; they were married at Preacher Ben Truluck's home on May 2, 1909.
Hope this helps.
