Our Mcewin family came to oklahoma around 1904. They came from northern Arkansas and Oregon Co. Mo. Land was on both sides i.e. Mo/Ark. John and william were adopted out after fathers death. The family is first listed as mcewing John b.1798. The origional family may have been the same as William in texas but we cannot find this. All of the Mcewin framilies may have started in Pen. Ten. but I cannot trace John to that branch.
