I'm not that good at genealogy. I've spent the past year looking at my grandfather's mother's family. It paid off and altho I have yet to find her (Laura Elmire Hunter Kilpatrick) grave, I've found where most of her family is buried.

This weekend, I took at look at Grandmother Kilpatrick's family (Lowery) and rediscovered some info I had been given about her father's family (Lowery>McFalls>McHone). I was shocked at the amount of info out there for McFalls and McHone. I just have to make the connection with Arthur McFalls and Hazy McHone.

The information I have on their daughter, Sarah Caroline McFalls, states that her father, Arthur McFalls went away to fight "for the Southern Cause and never came back". A couple of years later Mrs. McFalls (Hazy) remarried. In the McFalls messages, I found where an Arthur McFalls died at the battle of Shiloe. I was wondering if this was the same Arthur. But I have nothing so far that indicated my Arthur married a Cherokee Indian woman (Teek) altho there has been a family rumor that one existed somewhere.

My info also says that all these Lowery/McFalls folks moved from Yancy Co. and to Rutherford Co. near Cliff Side. There are a LOT of them buried in the Providence Meth. Church cemetery near there, from Sarah Caroline McFalls and her husband, John Wm. Lowery on down to my father's sister who died in infancy (Katie Sue Kilpatrick).

I'm at It's good to meet you. -Brenda
