I am descended from James McFalls. Several of us are trying to prove if Sarah Dickson was the mother of Arthur and John Madison. Sarah Maix(Mace) was the mother of several of his children. He was in SW VA by about 1840, first in Russell, then Wise, then Dickenson. He might have been in the same area since Wise was formed from Russell and Dickenson formed from Russell.

My ancestor,John Madison McFalls, was court-martialed in KY after the Civil War. He took most of his family to TX, apparently with some others from his area, changed his name to Dictson ( later Dickson). He is in Hunt Co, TX for about 40 years.

He is in Yanceyin 1850 census, 1860, KY, 1870- Hunt Co TX. He died in Hugo, OK at his son's home. If you look at Choctaw Co OK web page, there is a bio by one of our cousins and his picture. There was a ceremony there last year to mark the dedication of his headstone.
