Tim, I, too, am working on the McFalls/Dictson family. Viney McHone Dictson of Texas had to be one of my McHone relatives. The only three McHones in that area of western North Carolina at that time were brothers Joshua McHone and Kimble McHone and an unknown person named James McHone. Louvina Myra Elizabeth McHone was said to have been born 1821-1824. She was of an age to be a daughter of any of the three. Joshua is discounted because he already has a documented Myra Elizabeth who married a Hollifield and was several years younger than this Viney. I believe Viney to be either the daughter of Kimble McHone or of James McHone. I have found two of Kimble's earlier daughters whose names were not found in the 1850 census because they were already married. She very well could be one of Kimble's earliest children. Then again, the James McHone, who we don't know where he ties into the family, had two daughters in the 1830 census of Burke. He moved to western NC about the same time as Joshua and Kimble. She could be a daughter of James. There are a lot of similarities to her children's names and the children of Joshua and Kimble. James is probably a cousin, too; we don't know. Sure would love to find Viney's parents.
