Alney B. McFalls & Matilda McKinney (NC > TN > MO)

Do any of the descendants of Alney & Matilda McFalls have any documented evidence (from official records) of births, marriages, deaths, or census or military records to add to the list below?

1838 ... Indian Removal Regiments for North Carolina shows an A.B. McFalls listed. NOTE: Not sure this is our Alney.

1840 ... It is my understanding that Alney & Matilda married in the mid-1840s, so they would not have been on the 1840 census together.

1850 ... Cherokee County, NC .... some of Alney & Matilda's children are said to have been born here. There is an ABNER B. McFALLS (age: 31) & a MATILA McFALLS (age: 21) on the 1850 Cherokee County, NC, Census. However, no children are shown, and they should have had the first 3 by this time. NOTE: This is the nearest thing to census evidence I have been able to find in NC.

1860 ... Anyone have them on this census?

1867 ... Several sources have indicated that Alney died shortly after the Civil War. I am told that my Great Grandfather Andrew John (A.J.) McFalls, who was born in 1865, was their youngest child. I was also told Alney & Matilda had 10 children between the years of 1845-1865, namely: Vesta, Narcissis, Nancy Elizabeth, Charles, Laura, William Julius, Thomas Lafayette, Alice M., Myra Emma, & Andrew John. This list does not match other lists I have seen posted. It is similar, but not exact.

1870 ... Anyone have Matilda & younger children on this census?

1880 Texas County - Morris Township - Missouri Census shows:
MATILDA McFALL (self-female-widow-age:52-PoB:NC-F:NC-M:NC)
Lafayette McFALL (son-male-single-age:23-PoB:NC-F:NC-M:NC)
Alice McFALL(daughter-female-single-age:20-PoB:NC-F:NC-M:NC)
John McFALL (son-male-single-age:15-PoB:TN-F:NC-M:NC)
Same census .... same county, same township shows:
W.J.McFALL (age 27 born in NC) his wife is Amanda age 26, Charles W. (a son age 6 born in TN), Delsa (a daughter age 4 born in TN), Wm. (a son age 10 months born in MO).
Same census .... same county, same township shows:
CHARLES McFALL (age 31 born in TN) his wife is Malinda age 23 born in MO, Elisabeth (a daughter age 11 born in IL), and Emma (a daughter age 8 born in IL)..... Speculation: YOUNG WIFE BORN IN MISSOURI.... MAYBE THE MOTHER OF THESE CHILDREN DIED.

1890 Census ... Anyone have Matilda on this census?

1900 Census ... according to one McFalls researcher, Matilda shows up in Douglas County, MO, in 1900. I haven't gotten a copy of this yet.

I have been unable to find the family of ALNEY B. McFALLS & MATILDA on a census in TN. It is my understanding that they lived in MONROE COUNTY, TN. If anyone has any other documented evidence bearing names, dates and locations, please let me know, as I have exhausted everything I know to try.

I did a "search" for "McFalls" (only... no Alney or other given name)for the entire state of NC on the US GenWeb Project site and got 63 hits .... all of which I checked out ... most of which were in the southwest portion of the state, i.e., Old Burke County and then various counties that were cut out of Burke.

I did a search for TN, but most of what came up was in Wayne County, TN, and I don't think our bunch was there. None of the names matched up as far as I could tell.

A wonderful Look-up Volunteer found the 1880 Missoui Census info for me. So... if anyone else has any hard evidence please let us know, as several of us are searching diligently in an effort to fill-in the gaps in this family's history. My mother's 80th birthday is coming up soon, and I am trying to get as much info as possible to give her as a gift.

Does anyone out there have a picture of Alney &/or Matilda or any of their children? I have a picture of A.J. McFalls & his wife & all of their children that was taken in about 1917 and would be happy to share if anyone is interested.
Many thanks, Sharon Reed-Miller
