Hi Padraig...what a great offer..thanks for making it!
I have my gg grandfather Robert McGARRY b 1818 Portadown, Ulster. His sibs Henry b 1807, Mary b 1803, Sarah b 1814, Susan b 1811, William b 1816 and Charles b 1822 all b in Ireland acc to their mother (Rachel THOMSON MCGARRY) on her application for poor relief in Glasgow 1852. Their father Henry MCGARRY died 1839, place of birth and death unknown.
Robert had 2 sons including my ggrandfather Robert Douglas Hamilton McGARRIE b Glasgow 1875 m Lizzie DENBY b Cavan and John Henry MCGARRIE also b Glasgow.
Any chance of any connections? I would dearly love to trace the birth of Henry fa of Robert ( m Rachel) Difficult with so little information on him, I expect I will have to find the marriage and go back form there.Any suggestions? I have had a researcher look at Portadown records but no luck.
Thanks for any advice offered
