My great great grandfather was Patrick McGarry, married to Eliza, both from Ireland born around 1820. Had 3 children in Ireland, Mary, Eliza, and John, then moved to England, around 1850 when my great grandfather Patrick Jr was born in Cumberland, followed by James in 1852 and Henry in 1854. They are also in England for the UK census of 1861. I know they were in America for the 1870 census. On that census, John is not listed in America, so perhaps he is the brother of Patrick Jr and stayed in England to marry Ann and father another James. My sisters and I will be going to England/Ireland this summer. Would be happy to share information with you.
George McGarry, Jr
