Elizabeth, the Joseph I am following was born much later. 1862. I was hoping to find a brother to Joseph's grandfather born in your Joseph's time frame and area. The name Joseph seems to carry several generations from the Virginia area. Joseph L. McGehee was born in Arkansas to Robinson (Robert) McGhee (McGehee) who is the son of William McGehee born in 1800 around Virginia, Tennessee area possibly as far west as Davidson County Tenn. I am trying to back track any lead to William. I have several leads that are crossed up and only the early census records are helping but around 1800 census I am afraid this McGehee clan was on the move. Thank you for your info. If I come across anything relating to your search I will share them with you.
