Mary McGhea m. John Brown, NC in 1792

The referenced marriage between John Brown and Mary McGhea took place in Richmond Co., NC in 1792. I note that the McGhee family in Prince Edward Co., VA (PECo) in the mid-1700s had married into the DeJarnette family there. The Davison family in PECo was also very closely associated with that same DeJarnette family, and several of those Davisons had moved to the Montgomery/Anson/Richmond Co., NC area by the mid-late-1770s or so. Those Davisons married into the Atkins family of PECo on at least three known occasions, and a John Brown in PECo had also married into that same Atkins family (and records show a close connection between the Davisons and this Brown family in PECo).

Based on all that we know, it seems that the John Brown who married an Elizabeth Atkins in PECo in 1756 also migrated down to NC in the 1770s or so with the above-referenced Davisons. As such, I suspect that the above-referenced John Brown who married Mary McGhea was also out of PECo (and he was perhaps a son of the older (apparently) John Brown who had married Elizabeth Atkins in VA back in 1756). Does anyone know the lineage of this Mary McGhea in Richmond Co., NC? Was she out of the McGhee family of PECo? Thanks!
