I did not research the branch of Nehemiah and Elizabeth McGhee. However, I can tell you that Nehemiah was the older brother of my great-great grandfather, Wiley McGhee, son of Zera and Mary (Polly) McGhee, formerly Harris, of TN.Wiley and Nehmemiah settled the land west of what is now Chattanooga, in the old Ocoee district, in the late 1830's.Wiley moved his family to Arkansas in 1850, and then moved to Wayne County Missouri in 1858, to join the rest of the family after Nehemiah's death in 1856.Wiley and Nehemiah had a younger brother named Zera Marion who moved to Wayne County Missouri in about 1857 along with his brothers, one named John Franklin McGhee, his sister Cornelia and their mother Mary "Polly" Harris/McGhee.I know that some of the family moved to Oklahoma, and some to Texas, but my research focused on those who stayed in Wayne County MO.
I wrote a book titled UNBROKEN CIRCLE about my branch of the McGhee family. You can view my website and read about my project at mcgheebooks.com.
I hope this helps you.Feel free to contact me if I can be more help to you.Neil
