The name John (Johnny) is passed down through almost every generation and family line of McGhees. One of the early "pioneers" of Tennessee was John McGhee. It is known that McGhees migrated to Alabama from Tennessee. There are records of this line.

The McGhee geneaology is complex, and not easily determined by given names. One must provide such information as birth and death dates, spouses, children, and grandparents, if possible.

There are several excellent McGhee family researchers on this board who will be willing to help in your search. But, they need information in order to help trace ancestors.

Good luck with your research.
