McGill in Quebec
Posted by: Marilyn Rennie (ID *****7953) Date: August 12, 2008 at 07:36:13
  of 1608

Since my original posting I have learned that my grandfather, THOMAS MCGILL (b. 1877 Quebec), was the son of PATRICK MCGILL (b. 1830 in Ireland), not Thomas as originally suggested, and SARAH WILEY (b. 1840 in Ireland). Patrick and Sarah resided in Kildare, Joliette Co., Rawdon, Quebec. They had 3 McGill children, i.e. THOMAS (married Euphemia MCNEILAGE), ELIZABETH (married William Ernest Kite SMILEY), and EDWARD.
SARAH MCGILL also had at least three children from a previous marriage to WILLIAM STAFFORD. The Stafford children were William, Margaret and Eliza Jane.
Please let me know if you have any connection to any of these ancestors.
