Wow, I was way off. You have given me so much info, I need time to process and research. The draft card was so hard to read until you helped interpret some of the muddier words.
I am signed up for ancestry.com but as I am sure you know, it is easy to go off in the wrong direction. I have also found Ellen Moore b 1844 baptism(Thomas R Gannon's prospective wife) in Cong. Parish of County Cork.
It looks like my original quest for Mary McGill is going to be more difficult than I expected. I have followed Mary McGill back to Dumbarton, Ireland and see her father, John McGill b.1837 and mother b 1848. The name changes to Mc Gill and it appears they all immigrated together - found them on the 1880 US Census in Buck Mountain, Carbon, Penn.
Armed with the resources you mentioned, I will dig deeper.
