I am writing the first book from the American point of view about 19th century rotunda panoramas. These were the biggest paintings in the world,50 x 400=20,000 square feet, housed in their own rotundas which were 16-sided polygons.Chicago in 1893 had 6 panorama companies and 6 panorama rotundas."Orange Blossom,A Positive Cure for All Female Diseases.Sold by all druggists.Mailed to any address on receipt of price,$1.00.Prepared by Dr.J.A.McGill & Co,3 and 4 Panorama Place,Chicago,Illinois."Panorama Place was at Wabash and Hubbard Court (today Balbo Avenue) which contained the BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, on display 1883-1893, and a second panorama across Wabash that displayed SIEGE OF PARIS,JERUSALEM ON THE DAY OF THE CRUCIFIXION (2 different canvas by 2 different companies),MISSIONARY RIDGE,NIAGARA FALLS, and DEWEY AT MANILA.I have images and info to share. What info do you have about Dr.McGill and ORANGE BLOSSOM at Panorama Place?
