Hello, My mothers maiden name is aslo Mcgilligan and we are from a little town called Ballerin which is not far from swatragh!
i am also trying to find my roots b ut havnt been successful or even close until now!
my granny was Lynch before she married my granda who is Mcgilligan. My fathers name is also McGilligan (weird I know) but he is from Dungiven.
My mothers side is from Greencastle in the roi and my fathers side have always been from Dungiven, Derry.
Do you have a first name for your mother? as i also have realitives under the name of Quigg in Swatragh.
