Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

My Husband's grandfather was Frederick McGilton. He was born in Syracuse, NY in 1882. He had a brother, William Thomas McGilton who was born in Canada in 1876 and a sister, Bertha born in Canada in 1878. His parents were Thomas and Fannie McGilton. In the 1880 census, Thomas McGilton was listed as 26 years of age. The family split up and the children were placed in an orphan home. Have not had much luck tracing this family.
