I am a volunteer with Wahoo Family Network. Seeking family and friends of submariner, Howard Eugene McGILTON. The USS Wahoo (SS-238) went missing Oct 1943 in northern Japan. The sub has been discovered. We wish to share the news with family and friends.
If you are of this family, a friend, or knowledge of the Sailor, please make contact to this posting, or to Point of Contact: On Eternal Patrol <> USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park. Honolulu, HI: <> Thank You!

Howard Eugene McGILTON (b.abt. 1924, MO) He listed Next of Kin, his mother: Mrs.Myrtle McGilton Potter, Box 592, Kirksville, MO. {Adair Co.} He entered the service from MO.

I believe family might be the ones listed in 1930 census in ARK, Benton Co., Wallace Twp. McGilton, George J. 34y; Myrtle L. 32y; and Howard E. 6y. This may possibly be the same George J. McGilton, listed in 1910 census in MO, Livingston Co., Chillicothe Twp. Here I possibly found him on WWI Draft Registration Cards and MO National Guard. The Mexican Border. 1916.

Buried in Kirksville, MO, Forest-Llewellyn Cem. {no dates} Myrtle McGilton-Potter.
