McJimp Bays
Posted by: Sylvia (ID *****8566) Date: September 05, 2002 at 20:16:09

McJimp Bays was born in 1814 in Ky. He moved to Missouri probably around 1827 and settled in Wayne County. He married Mary Ann Epps in the 1840's. In 1850, he was in Butler County, that had been created from Wayne County. His family moved in the late 1850's to Collin County, Texas. He died on Sept. 22, 1870 in Collin County, Texas.

I have always felt like McJimp (which can be spelled many creative ways) was probably a surname. There was a McGimpsey Bays in Denton County in 1870. My feeling was he was related?

Can anyone help me with this person? Does anyone have a Bays and a McJimp or McGimpsey that married somewhere along the way?
