McGimpsey Kelly

Has anyone everheard of McGimpsey being used as a first name? My ancestor, McGimpsey Kelly probably was born in Ireland and eventually moved to Beaver County, Pennsylvania in the late 1700's or early 1800's. I have seen his name spelled Mejimcy, Magemcy, McGimsy, and many other ways. I wonder if he was named after an ancestor with the surname McGimpsey. Any information would be appreciated.
