Hi Mike,
My 4th G-Grandfather came to America in 1770. His name was William McGimpsey and he was from Newtownards, County Down, Ireland. I have a Family History Index at:

My family line left York County, PA. in 1775 and went to Burke County, N.C. They left N.C about 1800 and settled in Maury County, TN. About 1832 they went to Madison County, Miss. On to Baton Rouge, LA. in 1849. My GG-Grandmother brought the family to KY in 1881. Majority of my line still live in KY.
