Ulster / Scottish McGimpsey Similarities

I have just discovered this site. My mother's maiden name was McGimpsey, she was born in Bangor, Northern Ireland.

My reply to the posting on the 'Scottish McGimpsey's' is prompted by some similarities in the descriptions of our anscestors. My mother's grandfather, whose Christian name I would have to establish, was a blacksmith who worked in Newtownards. My mother's father (my grandfather), Julius, was one of a brood of children including brother's with names such as Harry, Johnny, and Bill. There were sisters as well. Julius was born roundabout the turn of the century.

My grandfather, the aforementioned Julius, married a May Orr, from Bangor.
