William McGinnis b. PA circa 1775
My current search into my McGinnis lineage is stalled and I could use any advice, tips, or hints that anyone will share.I know that William McGinnis was born in PA before 1775 due to his statement on the 1820 Ohio Census where he stated that he was 45 or older. He moved to Ohio at some point in his life because his son William was born in Ohio in 1808.William Sr.'s spouse was possibly named Hester.I have some possible leads with Revolutionary War records but I have no way of knowing whether or not it is him because I do not know where in PA he was from / born, and I also do not know at what point he moved into Ohio, or how old he would have been.I'm very interested in getting my line back "across the pond," but have little luck of that without any more information on William Sr.Feel free to contact me, or check out my tree on ancestry.com - tree name: McGinnis, username: smallsnail .If you think we may share some common ancestors I would love to do some sharing of information.Any / all input would be appreciated!
