McGintys In Arkansassince 1840

The item submitted by Gerald K. McGinty is stimulating
and very informative. Gerald did not have Joseph Jackson
McGinty after about 1830s in Miss. Joseph Jackson moved
to Conway County Arkansas in about 1840. He is not shown
in the 1840 Miss. Census nor the 1840 Arkansas rolls. He
is shown in the 1850s as being married to a Melissa Shaw
and had three children by that marriage. They were: Thomas
William and Mary. Joseph Jackson died in Conway county Ar.
in 1851 leaving his widow, three children by Melissa in
addition to those whom he left behind in Miss. and possibly
in Alabama. I do believe from what I have been able to
find he married Elizabeth Heard in Miss. Louise Scroggins
in Miss. We don't know what happened to those wives in
Miss. Joseph Jackson met and married Melissa Shaw in Conway
County Arkansas after 1840 because their first child was
born in 1844. That son was my Gr grandfather Thomas B.McGinty.
