Greenbrier McGintys

Six miles East of Greenbrier on Hwy 225 is the McGintytown
Community. The Church of God is the hub of all activity in
the community today. Several McGinty families live there
today. Thomas McGinty married two sisters from that area
in 1864 and 1866. The first sister reportedly died in child
birth in early 1866 and thomas married a younger sister
named Loueazer Catherin Tarkington. Marriage records exist
in Morrilton, Conway county Courthouse confirming this fact
as I have viewed and copied them. Thomas and Loueazer had
a large family nine of twelve lived to adulthood.
They were: Elizabeth, Jackson (Jack), John G. Franklin C.
Ida May, James A. William T. Golda and Joseph. My line is
through Franklin Columbus who was my Grandfather. my father
was Ernest Matthew McGinty. And there are literally hundreds
of relatives all over the country whose roots are right
here in McGintytown, Arkansas
