Annmarie,
The info I have on Joseph's wives are: 1st-Elizabeth
Heard; 2nd-Louise Scroggins; and 3rd-Melissa Shaw. I don't
have proof positive of the chronology of his wives. Just
that Melissa was his last wife by 1850 Conway County, Ar.
Census. There were Scroggins in Ms. and Ar. at that same
time. One report says that the minor children of Melissa
were made wards of J.M. Scroggins then of Conway County.
William and Mary were Joseph's children by Melissa. Thomas
was 16 in 1860 and is presumed to be on his own.
The H.T. Bradford you refer to being 20 Shady 17 would
have been an uncle to my Grandfather Henry Thomas Bradford.
My Gf was born in 1872 and married a Nancy Bonds but both
of Van Buren County, Ar. You said earlier that Eli was
living with an H.T. in the Red River Twn. V.b. Co. 1870.
I've been searching for that record. Where did you find it?
Robert McGinty
