Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Our McGinty's came over from Ireland via NY 1822/1823, to Canada 1828, back through NY 1833, then to Indiana by 1837-1841 in Vigo County their daughter Ann married James Clarke. In 1841 they moved to Dubuque County, IA. It appears they worked the Canals. Do you know if your McGinty's came directly to Indiana or if they migrated via NY or Canada?

We have info on our web page, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kstoneberg/ourfamily.htm
Would like to be able to make a connection.
