McGinty, Texas

While doing a little research on the internet, I discovered that there was a McGinty, Texas. It was near the site of present Trevat and thirteen miles northeast of Groveton in eastern Trinity County. It was named for Albert L. McGinty, who was the postmaster. A post office operated there from 1907 to 1908, when the mail was sent to Potomoc. The settlement apparently declined, and by the mid-1930s it was no longer on maps.
