In the 1910 census for San Bernardino, CA. Alma was the granddaughter of James Henry McGinty and Nancy Jane DeLong. She was about 9 years old and born in Oklahoma. Another child, a grandson named Elmer, 10 years, and born in Kansas also lived with them. One son Frances age 25 lived with James and Nancy. I noticed on my list of children of James and Nancy that one son died in 1908. I checked the 1900 census for Kansas and found George Omar McGinty with wife Pheba and son Elmer. Alma would not have been born yet. By inference one can suspect that both parents died and their living children were sent to live with the grandparents.

John William McGinty and Mae Elizabeth Shannon McGinty had three children Elbert, Guy, and Florence (my grandmother). If you would like any further info that I might have please e-mail me.
