I saw your posting about our McGinty's may have come from Concordia Parish.Do you have any information on Reuben or John McGinty, sons of James & Lydia Hood?My Grandfather,John McGintey was born 1880 in either Avoyelles or St Landry Parish. His father John McGinty was married in Pointe Coupee Parish, I do not know where or when he was born.My mom says my grandfather use to talk about Water Valley, which changed to Naples, La.Pointe Coupee was right across the river from there. Maybe why they got married in Pointe Coupee. Looking at the map, taking the river from Concordia, they could have come down the river to Water Valley. Water valley or Naples was right behind Bordelonville & Big Bend area in Avoyelles.
In this Book ,Border Country, pg 64, they have The Demon King Comes To Rodney. It is about the yellow fever in Rodney ,Miss. They have about a Mr. Fulkerson taking care of his friend, John McGinty until he got better, then John had to takr care of him.Could have been my John McGinty's father?
