Billy McGinty was my 1st cousin twice removed. I met him when I was 9 yrs old, just a year before he died, when my family took my grandmother (his 1st cousin) to visit him at his home in Ripley, OK. He was a truly amazing man. His home was like a museum, with all the pictures of him with Teddy Roosevelt and Annie Oakley, etc., along with so many other things. I'm actually related to him through his mother Margaret Burrell. I have recently been in contact with Billy's Great Granddaughter, who has been looking for information about him.
She got some copies of obits from the Cowboy Hall of Fame, which had conflicting information as to we have. They had his father as John. Both her and I had his name as Robert. I also had that he had two brothers, John and Isaac. The obits said that he had a brother, D.G. McGinty of Southern, OR and a sister, Mrs Lou Schriver, of San Bernadino, CA, both still living, at that time. Can you shed any light on this? Any information would be appreciated.
