Hi Carol,
I hope we connect, I've been searching this family for 35 yrs, but never have been able to find anything in Donegal. My
G-G-Grandfather was Francis Joseph McGinty who was married to Frances (Fanny) Hammond(b.ca 1815). Through Naturalization papers I discovered Hugh McGinty(oldest son of Francis & Fanny was b.14th Feb.1842 Donegal,Ireland. From what I've been able to find out, Francis McGinty was b.ca 1815-county Cork, Ireland. He may have gone to Donegal looking for work. You mentioned in a earlier posting(2002), that children of William Hammond & Elizabeth Scott were b.between 1841 and 1850.apparently my Fanny doesn't fit in with that family but maybe another Hammond family as you stated you had been researching the Hammonds in Donegal for many years. E-mail me direct you would like to.Thanks,Lorrie
