If I want to participate, I need to be a male (else no Y chromosome) and actually have the mcginty surname and not just decended from them. Am I reading it correctly?

I think thats what the webpage was telling me.

My cousins and i are descended from 5 mcginty sisters, i guess we have been pruned from the gene pool. Actually I understand, I think my Y chromosome comes from the Gilkeys, not the mcgintys.)
