Annemarie, thank you so much for the information on RJ McGinty. I will continue to try and get the transcript because my side of the family told a different story of his death. My dad said that RJ was shot for cheating at a horse race. The bullet went through RJ and lodged in William Harrison's cheek. He carried that bullet all his life - it could not be removed. The bullet part is true - sounds like the horse race was made up. My dad loved to embellish stories!

I have more info for you on William Harrison. Not sure why you thought he died in 1950 Goliad TX because he died of luekemia in 1962. I have a photo of his gravestone if you would like a copy. Both he and my grandmother, Myrtle Tipton McGinty are buried in Kilgore Cemetery, Kilgore, TX along with most of his children, including my parents.
