I can't give you much right now. It's 4:31am Mother's Day.
My grandfather, Major Charles McGowan, Sr., had a brother name Archy. I don't know his wife's name, etc. I'll quiz momma because I have heard her talking about Uncle Arch. My grandfather was born 1898 and I'm fairly sure it was here, Jackson, Mississippi, Hinds Cty.

Your Archy could be momma's great uncle. I have some old documentation locked up and I will give it a look. Also, momma was to be name after someone: Josephine Cinderella. Now, I don't know if she was a McGowan or on my grandmother's side. Oh, they settled on Josephine as a middle name only. Momma is soooo relieved.

I haven't tried genealogy research in 25 years. Maybe it's time I picked it back up.
