Hi Brian, I just got the scoop from my aunt jean and she said that she assumes her grandfather who was James J. McGowan came over from Ireland and settled in Akron. He got married in his mid forties to Pauline who came here from Luxenbourg. They were married at St. Bernard's Church in downtown Akron.there is a street in Akron called McGowan St. named after my great-great grandfather. I'm sorry that's all I know... my aunt is the oldest relative I have left on that side of my family! Probably not much help, but a strange coincidence! I noticed you also mentioned an ancestor named Mary Elizabeth.... that's my birth name as well!!! Do you live in Akron too? Maribeth
