I just broke down a major "brick wall" with the discovery that my paternal great great grandmother was born Eliza Jane MCGOWAN in Kentucky in about 1834...according to the 1870 census in Missouri (LaClede County). She married my gg grandfather, John WILSON in Morgan County, Illinois in 1855. John and Eliza had 6 children, all born in Morgan County. I am looking for anyone who would be able to help me with my research of the MCGOWAN family in Kentucky. This is my first posting since this discovery. Eliza's lob (i.e., county in KY), parents etc are all unknown at this point. Thanks in advance for any info you can share!
