Sue--and anyone else researching Pleasant Byrd McGraw--will be happy to know that I have Pleasant's entire lineage, as he was my gggrandfather. All our family knew until now was the birthdates of PB and E. Chandler, not their birth places or marriage date or place (we only knew PB was born in Ky. or Tenn.). So it looks like we'll be exchanging information!
PB and Elizabeth had 10 children. Our family had always passed on, through oral tradition, that PB had brothers John and Mike. Without any hard evidence my grandfather believed PB descended from a Frank Cornelius McGraw, whose father, John, "settled on the Elkhorn Creek near Lexington," Ky.

I did discover an 1820 census record of a Cornelius McGraw in Robertson Co. Tenn. in the northern part of the state where a creek runs, a tributary of the Red River, known as the Elk Ford Red.

Brown Co. is across the border from Kentucky.
