Hi, my name is Kate Maloney. I'm an ancestor of George Louis McGreevy. His daughter, Helen, was my mother's grandmother. How are you related to him?

I'm excited to hear that McGreevy's Tonic Water isn't just a family story that has been embellished over the years! If you still have some of the bottles, would it be too much trouble to ask you to take a picture of one and email it to me?

Currently, i'm researching George L. McGreevy's death. On i found a story, by an ancestor of his brother, that he committed suicide because he felt responsible for his nephew's death. However, the story that has been told and re-told in my family is that his bottling company was quite successful until Coca-Cola stole his recipe and put him out of business. We were told he committed suicide because his "empire" had failed.

Let me know if you can shed some light on either of these stories (or maybe you know of a different story altogether!). And if you have a picture of one of those bottles, i would love to add it to my growing collection of family history documentation.
