Carole: I've been gathering Magruders for years now and although my particular line stuck with the McGruder spelling, for simplicity I have used the Magruder spelling. Your Elizabeth Magruder was b. 3/17/1815 and died about 1867, Oakley, IL. After her death, John Phillips remarried to an Idabelle Chapin. Elizabeth was the d/o George Alexander Magruder, b. abt. 1784, West Carlisle, Coshocton Co., OH and Elizabeth Billingsley, b. abt. 1787, Charles Co., MD (d/o Clement Billingsley and Eleanor Warren). Elizabeth's siblings were: Mary, b. 10/28/1806 (married Thomas McDonald); William Magruder, b. 2/22/1808 (married Ellen Henderson); Eliza (married Daniel Pennington); John, b. 10/11/1812 (married Elizabeth Harper); Hezekiah, b. 7/18/1818 (married 1st to Sarah Ann Lake and secondly to Dorothy Spence); Clement, b. 9/5/1820 (married Malinda VanWinkle); James, b. abt. 1822 (married Rebecca Zollars); and George Alexander Magruder, b. 1/15/1825 (married Margery Chapin). Elizabeth and John Phillips had: Jennie Phillips (married Henry Hayward); John William Phillips (married Sarah Casteels); George Phillips (married Mary Easter); Jacob Phillips; Annie Phillips (married John Garnett); Milton Phillips; Sarah Phillips; Rebecca Phillips (married James McHugh; Nancy Phillips (married Philip Shambaugh); and Etta Phillips (married Charles Peacock)
