18th Century VA McGruders
Posted by: Laura Cederstrand Date: July 07, 2001 at 16:24:27

I am descended from a McGruder woman (b. 1770's) who lived in Pocahantas County, Virginia and married a man named Nixdorf. They had a daughter named Christine. I have assumed this McGruder woman was an Ulster Scot, due to the large number of Scotch-Irish who settled in 18th century VA, but have no proof of this. I would like to correspond with anyone who is interested.

Thank you,
